Back-To-Back Wins for Bergenholtz Racing

West Palm Beach, FL, – Clinching its second 1st Place title at the Nitto Sport Compact Nationals, the Bergenholtz Racing Team, led by driver Ed Bergenholtz electrified the first NHRA Sport Compact Race of the year piloting the Audiobahn/Mazda Speed 6.

Tens of thousands of NHRA fans saw the 2005 race in which Bergenholtz defeated the feared GM/Rousch Cobalt. “This year,” said Ed’s brother and Team Manager Ron Bergenholtz, “GM/Rousch put three Cobalts up against us and we defeated them all.” The Bergenholtz Racing Team’s Audiobahn/Mazda Speed 6 conquered the three GM race cars even in qualifying rounds. “We like to call the Audiobahn/Mazda Speed 6 the “Winning Tradition of Speed and Sound,” he added. The race car was also a focal point at Audiobahn exhibits at both SEMA ’05 and CES ’06.

Audiobahn is the title sponsor for the Bergenholtz Racing team and, “People can’t believe we actually race with a sound system in the car,” Bergenholtz continued. Surprisingly, the Speed 6 sports a commanding Audiobahn sound system including an iPod-direct Head Unit, amplifier, 6.5” coaxial speakers and amplified bass tube.

Ron Bergenholtz recently visited the Audiobahn corporate headquarters to present the team’s coveted 2006 Wally Trophy to Audiobahn President Nasser Abo Abdo. “We wanted to give Audiobahn our first win of the season and say thanks for the support,” Bergenholtz said. “Our race team has gone through a lot of struggles this year. This win means a lot to us.”

Audiobahn President Nasser Abo Abdo was thrilled by the honor. “This team has set a new standard for NHRA racing and we’re so privileged to be a part of the Bergenholtz success,” he said.

Audiobahn’s presence at the NHRA Sport Compact Race was memorably widespread. The famous Audiobahn Rig was parked prominently next to the race track and all team members wore Audiobahn jerseys. The company’s Scion XA could be found blaring music around the show grounds. And with television coverage by ESPN, the weekend was full of liveliness from beginning to end.

Ron Bergenholtz went on to say, “Winning two 1st Place NHRA titles back-to-back is something we only dreamed of. We’ve got a lot of races this year and we hope to carry along this tradition of success.”

The team’s next NHRA race will be April 22 – 23 in Richmond, Virginia. Audiobahn wishes the Bergenholtz Racing Team continued success in dominating the NHRA racing circuit.
